Slipstream (Mark Refoy & Jonny Mattock) return with their new single (taken from the new album coming out later this year) on Enraptured. It builds on from their last album 'Transcendental', with their disco-psych sound further developed into something more poppy. This could *easily* break their obscure territory into something more global!

The first message I got about the single was 'take a look at the artwork - when you hear the title track, you'll get what I mean!' - so I did. Circles of weirdness turning into each other. It's a headfuck hinting at something hypnotic. The CD looks great but doesn't quite do the artwork ( titled "The Time Tunnel Show") enough justice, but the vinyl does (hoorah! for vinyl eh!)....

A. E. I. O. U. speaks the truth when it says 'Lost For Words'..... I pretty much was! If I get to do some proper DJ'ing this year, I'll sure be playing this - as it has a massive hook to it. Its got that 80's hook to it with synthesised vocals. It'll easily be a crowd grabber in the hippest night clubs around. When the guitar comes in it adds a new dimension to the sound, building to an anthemic climax which if you weren't nodding to the music before - you will be by now.

'When The Summers Gone' brings us closer to what we heard from 'Transcendental' - it's gentler but still fun in a mellower way. The vocals aren't as synthesised but we get the echo with electronic rhythm from the keyboards. Still that touch of psych, hinting at something similar to Spiritualized (Both Mark & Johnny used to be in Spiritualized!).

The 'Pedro Gonzalez Club Mix' of the title track adds a bit more of the disco touch to it - the bass-beat makes a pounding appearance to add a more exciting tone. This is almost as good as the original!!!
