Album Reviews
For fans of Hendrix or even those who wanna 'relive' woodstock in audio form - this is for you! Radio Moscow are Parker Griggs (guitar, drums, vocals, percussion), Luke McDuff (bass), Zach Anderson (bass) - creating a concoction of psychedelic garage rock with complicated melodic, spinning riffs to please even the most dedicated rock 'n roll maestro's! All this and it's produced by label neighbours The Black Keys (Dan Auerbach)! 'Introduction' has thumping drums to thrashing riffage which does a great job in leading the track along. in' Frustrating Sound' - things calm down a bit to create something more bluesy with an introduction of vocals, but it picks up towards the end with the guitars. 'Lucky Dutch' takes us on a similar path to the White Stripes with Jack style riffs and vocals, and with Meg style drums. In 'Lick Skillet' both guitar and drums play highly melodic parts in sync. Don't put this off - but this is pretty much how the album plays. It keeps this consistancy throughout which I was skeptical about at first. Apart from 'Ordovician Fauna' which takes a big psych rold with the Sitar. This doesnt really appear to fit with the rest of the album, but still sounds great. It shows future possibilites for Radio Moscow, taking their sound in different directions - which can only be a good thing! Myspace: Radio Moscow
