Single Reviews
Mumbai based Mukul has released a single to his album (which I haven't heard) entitled 'You Don't Know Me'. Thoughts I'm getting of this, from the intial 'remix' track, is some of that quiet electro stuff that you hear young kids bangin out their cars, trying to impress the ladies... It's ok, just 3 minutes too long... as a backing track it might work, but I find it too boring. Highly repetitive. It might work as a loud disco anthem, but I feel people might get bored. Ahhh! But, 2nd track, the 'album' version throws us into something more structured and interesting. Trip-hop loops, old Warp style bleeps and bloops, now this is something you could be seductive with. And at 3 minutes, it's not too long to call it quits - it's actually satisfying! 'Habby Birthday' follows along the same path with the trendy electro sound and Tricky style vocals... It's actually pretty good a single apart from the remix... Online presence: Mukul
