Album Reviews
Clinic has returned with their fourth album, successor to 'Winchester Cathedral' released in late 2004. Almost two years later they've returned with 'Visitations' which sees them release another great album, but not totally different from their previous output. It's still Clinic as we know it, but nothing to complain about... In Visitations we're introduced with the garage type sound and slightly muffled vocals on 'Family', which is quite upbeat. But we also have a kind of psychedelic-funk addition which helps assist their experimental nature in 'Animal/Human'. 'Harvest Within You' has the similar based to 'Second Line' from Internal Wrangler - less upbeat but still enjoyable. And 'If You Read Your Mind' is similar in sound to Voodoo Wop. So it sounds that Clinic have gone back to the style of Internal Wrangler, although I don't think this album really betters it. Instead it feels more recycled than showing progression. Still good though, just not I was hoping for. Myspace: Clinic |
