I think with this album we've got to bow down to those clever A&R fellas at Rumraket for signing this guy up. Their latest signing - Canon Blue aka Daniel James - is an absolute delight. Electronic pulses, scattered synths, string arrangements which accompany folk-layers, amazing piano melodies - it's all there! All which comes together beautifully and with such great imagination to create an amazing debut - which could lead onto other amazing things in the future.

What strikes me is the unpredictability of the sounds presented here - just randomly thrown in, but working well to complement the rest of the tracks. Something Mike from Tunng would normally do if he was from Denmark. When you hear tracks like 'Pale Horse', 'Pilguin Pop' and 'Sea Monsters', you realise how well put together this is. I can see this guy doing a Grizzly Bear - moving straight from Rumraket to Warp again. Excellent!
