The Week That Was

This was a website to fit the side project of Peter Brewis from Field Music, with an expanded line-up and new direction. The Week That Was received a large amount of reward for their only album, with some press people praising it for reviving the concept album idea. Ala, Lamb Lies Down On Broadway by Genesis.

This was the first site I built to utilise social network integration. It was decided that the only networks really needed for fans were Facebook, Myspace, and Last.FM. Bebo and Imeem were left neglected, but this didn’t mean much for the band anyway, as it was not central to their core-market.

It is also important to note that this site wasn’t developed in WordPress. Strictly PHP, CSS and HTML. The design was first done in Photoshop, sent back and forth between myself and the band/label, then sliced to fit the site. This was the only design I made, and the band loved it. The look and feel of the site fitted the look for the album. It utilised the album artwork, serving it almost as a “brand”, and did what it meant to do.
