Hey All,
My oh my its been quiet around here! Why's that? Well that's purely because of the work-load outside of Velvet Grooves. I.e. my other stuff. University work and other happenings. Just finished my dissertation - used most of the Easter holiday for that, and that was a mahoosive task to finish! But now its done.
Most records I've recieved have gone onto the student radio show I do. No worries if you've not heard about it or heard it - drop me an email and I'll include you in the outgoing emails. There's quite a big list. Actually I need to send one out to that, I've not done a show since beginning of Easter, purely because of all this work.... it's back on now though - Sundays 4-6pm (bay-radio.co.uk). You can listen online there.
So what's happening with Velvet Grooves? I think I'm going to revamp it to use a Wordpress template very soon, and then do some exciting things with it. My dissertation is a major project in itself, which I'll explain more about later.
So check back in a few weeks or email and I'll keep you posted.
Cheers All,
Paul

It's a beauty. Produced by Mike Tunng - for anyone into eerie electronic-folk music, you could almost do no wrong listening to this...
All the right sounds in all the right places... exquisite piano/harp playing with subtle electronics floating over the top - it's not a masterpiece, but in this line of genres - not far off! Her strong english voice seems to creep on you as well...
Unbelievable that's she's only 25!
For people who like Joanna Newsom, Vashty Bunyan etc. Oh and Tunng!
Described by Static Caravan as a 'Harp playing Kate Bush'...

 |
The Cinematic Orchestra - Ma Fleur

E-Jugend - Last Exit Wedding
Highly inventive, genre hopping musical madness mixing the traditional with the down-right wierd... I like it when people try hard and it pays off! |

Man Music - Helping Hand
The duo work well to create a blissful album of discordant piano chords, toys, xylophones, violins, bleeps and percussion. It's all brilliantly done, with loads of strong emotions flowing throughout. It would fit that unmade haunted house film really well. |
